Hot off the fashion press today is news that RnB star and trend setter Rihanna would be designing her very first clothing collection alongside high street retail giants River Island. The exciting news comes after images of Rihanna looking curvaceous and gorgeous in a skimpy bikini whilst holidaying on a yacht in Sardinia where released via Instagram and Twitter.
RiRi tweeted this picture of her cavorting in a skimpy bikini and flaunting her curves whilst holidaying in Sardinia... |
So will her collaboration with River Island see us all sporting tartan mini dresses and 'f**k you' boots a la XFactor? Or will it be full of distressed denim, slogan caps and knuckle dusters? Hmm...it's going to be an interesting one!
Speaking of the exciting collection she's hoping to launch in early Spring 2013, Rihanna says
"I’ve been wanting to design my own collection for some time. River Island is the perfect partner for me to collaborate with and working with a British, family run business also really appealed to me. I find London really inspiring and River Island loves to have fun with clothes. I’m looking forward to working with them and creating something really special."
Always been a fan - Rihanna wears a River Island Rolling Stones tee... |
River Island, known for adding an unusual edge to their high street collections (think studs, embellishment, fringing and distressed denim features to name but a few...) are just as excited as we are on the retail collaboration of the decade!
"Rihanna is a style icon, from street to chic she enjoys her fashion. As soon as we started to work together we knew this was a perfect fit. Rihanna will be designing the collection and we will be sharing our fashion experience with her to develop a range her fans will love." Said Chief Executive Ben Lewis.
I'm predicting oodles of denim, shed loads of grunge and a touch of Rihanna swag that we all love - I wonder if there will be any 'umbrellas' in her collection?
Happy Shopping
